Our paths crossed, October 2018, Andalucia, at the end of a long day travelling to the first stop over of a week long holiday. Lena was already in the outdoor pool when I arrived for a refreshing dip. Two 'mad' British ladies! "I'm Lena,like Eleanor without the E," she explained, as I struggled to grasp her name. We arranged to meet, with our husbands,for a pre dinner drink - and that was the beginning of a great week and the start of a deep friendship. Somehow Lena found the strength to add a line on our Christmas card, " How two years have flown by since sunny (fun) Spain!!" We have so many happy and hilarious memories of that week too. We managed to meet up again in 2019 and after that Lena became the recipient of many WhatsApp jokes Paul passed on to her - they shared the same sense of humour. ALL that has been said about Lena, by her close friends and family, rings true. There were so many dimensions to this great lady.
